Synthesis and Characterization of 4-amino-N'-[(1E)-1-(2-hydroxy-6-methyl-4-oxo-4H-pyran-3-yl)ethylidene]benzohydrazide and its Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Mn(II) Complexes

New benzohydrazone compound, 4-amino-N'-[(1E)-1-(2-hydroxy-6-methyl-4-oxo-4H-pyran-3-yl)ethylidene] benzohydrazide (HL1) and its Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) Mn(II) complexes were synthesized. The structures of HL1 elucidated by elemental analysis IR, UV-Vis, 1H 13C NMR spectroscopy mass spectrometry. infrared spectral data the revealed that coordinated with metal ions through azomethine nitrogen, enolic oxygen amide carbonyl atoms, hence, behaves as a monobasic tridentate ligand. UV-Vis adopted octahedral geometry, while Cu(II) Ni(II) had five-coordinate square-planar geometries respectively. spectra values are in accordance calculated for suggested molecular formula complexes, confirmation 1:1 ligand to stoichiometry case complex 2:1 ligands other complexes.
